RANCHEROS DEL JAGUAR

'Rancheros del Jaguar' is a multi-award winning film by Wildlife Documentary filmmaker Sara Matasick, telling the story of the relationship between jaguars and ranchers in Sonora, Mexico. These ranchers used to shoot the jaguars in order to protect their livestock, but thanks to the Viviendo con Felinos program, they now shoot photos of them instead. Through these images, the ranchers earn the equivalent bounty that they would have made for a dead jaguar, making the jaguar more valuable alive, as well as doubling the size of the area through which the jaguars can safely roam.

The film is being screened at numerous film festivals throughout 2018, including the International Wildlife Film Festival (IWFF), the Festival Internacional de Cine Álamos Mágico (FICAM), and the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival (WCFF), as well as being an official selection in the Oniros Film Awards (OFA) 2018.
